Why isn’t there any clothing that combines pixel art with high-quality basics?
This question has been on my mind for a long time. My name is Vincent—designer, minimalist, and someone who grew up with a controller in my hand.
After more than ten years in marketing and design, I know this: the best work always comes from where passion meets craftsmanship. RetroShapes is exactly that. A tribute to the pixelated worlds that shaped me—translated into clothing that isn’t flashy, but subtly brings a touch of nostalgia to everyday life.
No cheesy prints. No generic logos. Just clean pixel art on basics you actually want to wear.
Pixel by pixel. By hand.
I design every motif myself. I always ask myself the crucial question: "Would I wear this myself?" Only the designs that pass this test make it to the pixel-editing stage, undergo testing—and end up in the PixelDex, our growing archive of all motifs, each with its own number and backstory.
Some designs are also created in collaboration with the community and partners who share the same standards. These collaborations don’t feel like compromises, but rather like a shared passion for detail.

No warehouse full of unsold shirts. No overproduction. We produce on demand—only when you order, and only what’s actually needed.
To achieve this, we use 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton from certified organic farms, sourced from a producer that has been a member of the Fair Wear Foundation for over 10 years and powers its entire production with renewable energy. We embroider instead of printing—no plastic print that peels off after a few washes, but embroidery that lasts. Embroidery and shipping are handled in our own small production facility near Lake Chiemsee.

The Four-Legged Quality Control
Zelda is officially in charge of motivation, mandatory breaks, and the final fur inspection of every product sample. We haven't decided yet whether that's a feature or a bug.
What we know: The best ideas usually come to us while walking the dog. Zelda knows that.
