Welcome to RetroShapes
From a gamer, for gamers: The story behind RetroShapes
My name is Vincent. I'm a designer, a minimalist, and I grew up with a controller in my hand. For over ten years, I've worked in marketing and design, always searching for the perfect in the simple. But one thing has always frustrated me:
"Why isn't there any clothing that combines pixel art with truly high-quality basics?"
RetroShapes is my personal answer to that. It's an homage to the pixelated worlds that shaped me. I wanted to create clothing that isn't loud, but subtly brings nostalgia into everyday life.
No tacky prints. No interchangeable mainstream logos. Just clean, pixel art on clothes you actually want to wear.
My philosophy: What makes RetroShapes special
🎨 Personal & In-House: I design every motif myself. Pixel by pixel. With attention to detail and the crucial question: "Would I wear this myself?" Only what passes this test becomes a RetroShapes piece.
♻️ Sustainable & Conscious Production: We produce on demand. This means: no warehouse full of unsold shirts, no overproduction. Only what is truly needed. For this, we rely on high-quality (organic) cotton and fair production conditions.
🎮 Authentic for Gamers: This brand comes from someone who spent their childhood in 8-bit worlds. For all those who have never forgotten that and still feel that passion today.
The four-legged assistant (and the real boss)
My assistant Zelda is usually with me. She doesn't actively help with the design (too many paws, not enough mouse skills), but she keeps everyone in good spirits, ensures regular breaks, and makes sure that no product sample leaves the house without a few dog hairs on it.
More than fashion – pieces with a story
We don't want to be fast fashion. We want to create pieces that last. Clothes you wear until they become part of your own story. Clothes you don't discard after one season, but that still look good in ten years – because good design and shared memories don't age.
RetroShapes is not just a label. It's a declaration of love for the pixels that shaped us.
